The primary PE and sport premium funding is allocated to school by the Government to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils.
The allocation is calculated according to the number of pupils in the school in years 1-6. The school must decide how best to use the money to improve PE and sport provision, so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles.
At St Jude’s Church of England Primary School, we believe PE & Sport plays an important role in making our vision statement a reality for every pupil, with the potential to change young people’s lives for the better.
We also believe that academic achievement can improve in school because of the benefits children can gain from high quality PE provision, experiences and opportunities.
We are committed to using our PE and sport premium to improve in the following 5 key areas:
increasing our staff’s confidence, knowledge and skills in teaching PE and sport
increasing the engagement of all our children in regular physical activity and sport
raising the profile of PE and sport across the school and promoting physical exercise
offer a broad, balanced experience of a range of sports and physical activities to our children
increase participation in competitive sport across the school.
